1977Nollie Lee Martin was born in 1949 in North Carolina.
On June 25, 1977, Nollie Lee Martin was involved in the murder of Patricia Greenfield, a 19-year-old convenience store clerk in Delray Beach, Florida. Martin and another man entered the store and forced Greenfield to hand over money at knifepoint. After robbing her of around ninety dollars and two cases of beer, they abducted her and drove her to Martin's apartment.

Once at the apartment, both men assaulted Greenfield sexually. After this, they blindfolded her and drove her to a remote location, intending to release her. However, instead of letting her go, they took her to the vicinity of the Lantana Dump. There, Martin attempted to strangle her with a rope but was unsuccessful. He then stabbed her multiple times in the throat. An autopsy revealed that Greenfield died from the stab wounds, and evidence suggested that a struggle had occurred prior to her death.
On July 4, 1977, Martin was arrested along with his accomplice for unrelated charges. During police interrogation that day, Martin confessed to killing Greenfield. A week later, on July 11, he provided another confession detailing the murder.
Martin faced several charges, including first-degree murder, kidnapping, armed robbery, and forcible sexual battery. He pleaded not guilty and claimed insanity as a defense. Eventually, he was convicted on all counts and sentenced to death.
The Florida Supreme Court affirmed his conviction and sentence. Following a series of legal appeals and challenges to the admissibility of his confessions, the courts upheld the validity of those confessions.
On May 12, 1992, Nollie Lee Martin was executed by electrocution in Florida for his crimes.
