Noi Praidaen was a 61-year-old resident of Khong District, located in Nakhon Ratchasima Province, Thailand. Prior to the shooting, he had been employed at the Or Tor Kor Market in Bangkok, a well-known fresh market situated in the Bang Sue district, across from the popular Chatuchak Weekend Market. At the time of the attack, Praidaen was no longer working at the market, but he had a known history with staff there.
According to reports, a long-standing dispute existed between Praidaen and a security guard named Anan Panchuen, also referred to as "Mr. Nan." The conflict reportedly stemmed from an incident in 2020, when Praidaen parked his vehicle at the market after dropping off his wife, who sold dried goods there. The vehicle was allegedly damaged—slashed by the guard—which initiated years of unresolved tension. Despite this background, Praidaen’s family stated they were unaware of any recent signs of escalating hostility or psychological distress. They claimed he had no prior history of violence, and his actions came as a shock to them.
murder story
On July 28, 2025, at approximately 12:31 p.m. local time, Noi Praidaen carried out a mass shooting at the Or Tor Kor Market in Bangkok, Thailand. Earlier that day, he hijacked a taxi near SC Park, threatening the driver at gunpoint and forcing him to drive to the market. They arrived near Gate 1, where Praidaen exited the vehicle and opened fire without warning. He began by shooting three security guards stationed near a donation point, killing them on the spot. After this initial attack, Praidaen entered one of the market buildings searching for Anan Panchuen, a 55-year-old guard with whom he had a long-standing dispute stemming from a 2020 incident involving damage to his vehicle. Upon finding Panchuen, Praidaen shot him multiple times, killing him.
Following the targeted shooting, Praidaen continued firing as he chased other security personnel through the building and into the main market area. During this rampage, he fatally shot a 64-year-old female vendor, Charoenyanan Satyathanaroj, and wounded two women nearby. Emergency services were dispatched quickly, and the injured were transported to Phyathai 2 International Hospital. After the shootings, Praidaen sat down on a bench inside the market and took his own life with a self-inflicted gunshot. In total, six people were killed, including Praidaen himself, and two others were seriously injured in what became one of Thailand’s deadliest marketplace shootings in recent years.
