Mohammed Souf was born in 2004 in the Palestinian village of Haris, located in the northern West Bank. He was 18 years old at the time of the attack. Souf worked as a cleaner at the Ariel Industrial Park, where the violence would later begin. He was reportedly associated with the Fatah political movement, the dominant Palestinian faction in the West Bank. His father was a member of the party and had previously spent time in Israeli prison, although Mohammed himself had no prior criminal record.

On the morning of November 15, 2022, at approximately 9:30 a.m. local time, Mohammed Souf launched a combined stabbing and vehicle-ramming attack in and around the Ariel Industrial Park in the West Bank.

The attack began when Souf stabbed a security guard at the entrance to the industrial park. He then moved toward the Ten gas station, located roughly 60–70 meters away. There, he fatally stabbed two men and injured another. The suddenness and brutality of the assault shocked bystanders and set off widespread panic.

Souf then fled the scene in a vehicle, driving toward a nearby road. He rammed into a group of cars, fatally injuring a 50-year-old Israeli man from Kiryat Netafim. When another civilian stopped his car to assist the victim, Souf seized the opportunity to steal the man’s BMW and continue his rampage.

Driving at speed, Souf attempted to attack additional vehicles on the road. His actions created chaos for nearly 20 minutes as civilians and security personnel attempted to track and stop him. At around 9:48 a.m., Souf was intercepted by armed civilians and Israeli security forces, who opened fire and killed him at the scene, bringing the attack to an end. In total, the assault left three Israelis dead and three others wounded.
