murder story

On November 27, 2006, Fly killed his two-year-old son, Tawana Mosinyi, with an axe while the child was sleeping. Fly claimed that the killing was accidental, stating he had thrown the axe at police officers outside his window who were allegedly shooting at him. However, the prosecution argued that Fly deliberately killed his son to spite the child's mother following a quarrel.

Fly was convicted of murder by the High Court in Francistown on October 17, 2008. Justice Thomas Masuku sentenced him to death by hanging on October 21, 2008, and recommended an appeal to the Court of Appeal of Botswana. The appeal was dismissed.

In February 2010, Fly became the first prisoner to escape from Botswana's death row, albeit for only fifteen minutes before being recaptured. Reports alleged that he was beaten by guards and placed in solitary confinement, though the prison authorities denied these claims.

Fly was executed by hanging on March 24, 2010, in Gaborone, Botswana.
