Bio

Milton E. Taylor was born on November 15, 1968. He grew up in a challenging environment. His early life details are not widely known. There is limited information about his family or childhood experiences.

As he grew older, Taylor had various relationships. Some of these relationships were complicated and influenced his life choices. He had a girlfriend who once gave him an ultimatum regarding another woman. This situation became key in his later life.

Over the years, Taylor faced legal issues and had earlier convictions for violent crimes. These experiences were part of his background. His life took a significant turn that would lead to tragic events in the year 2000.

Murder Story

On March 23, 2000, Milton E. Taylor killed Theresa Irene Williams, who was pregnant at the time. Her body was found at her home in the Compton Townhouse complex in Wilmington, Delaware. Williams was discovered by her sister, Tawana Ricks, and a maintenance worker named Steven Butler. They had become concerned when Williams did not show up for their plans that day. When they entered Williams’ home, they found her body beaten and strangled, with signs of a struggle.

After the murder, police identified Taylor as a suspect. They had learned about his relationship with Williams and noticed he had been seen near her home shortly before her death. Two days later, on March 25, 2000, Taylor was arrested at a pay phone. Although he was wanted for questioning regarding the murder, he was initially arrested for a separate outstanding warrant.

During Taylor’s time at the police station, an officer found a folded note in his sweatshirt pocket. This note later turned out to be a handwritten confession. The confession led the police to search Williams’ car, where they discovered a knife linked to the murder. The blood on the knife matched Williams' blood type.

The motive for the murder appeared to be a conflict in Taylor’s romantic life. His current girlfriend told him to stop all contact with Williams or lose her. It seemed that Taylor went to meet Williams to end their relationship, which tragically ended in her death.

At trial, Taylor did not testify and did not present any witnesses. The jury found him guilty of first-degree murder on March 31, 2001. During the sentencing phase, they noted that the victim was pregnant and that Taylor had prior convictions for violent crimes. The jury recommended the death penalty, which the judge imposed on July 6, 2001.
