Murder Story

Michael Wayne Williams committed a series of murders between 1992 and 1993. His first known victims were four men who were killed in Prince George County, Virginia, in December 1992. In these murders, Williams was involved in a violent incident that resulted in their deaths.

On February 27, 1993, Williams and an accomplice targeted Morris Keller Jr., 45, and Mary Elizabeth Keller, 35, in Cumberland County, Virginia. They planned to rob a market but found it closed. Instead, they decided to break into the Keller's home. Once inside, Williams brandished a gun and forced the Kellers to undress. They tied the couple up and searched the house for valuables.

After stealing items from the Keller's home, Williams and his accomplice raped Mrs. Keller. Later, they led the couple into a wooded area. Williams then shot Mr. Keller while Cruse shot Mrs. Keller. Concerned that the Kellers might still be alive, Williams fired additional shots into them to ensure they were dead. Afterward, they set the house on fire, loaded the stolen belongings into the Kellers’ Jeep, and drove away.

Williams and Cruse were later apprehended. Cruse testified against Williams and received a life sentence. Williams faced a trial in January 1994, where he was convicted of capital murder among other charges. He was sentenced to death for the murders of the Kellers and later pleaded guilty to multiple counts of murder related to the deaths in Prince George County.
