Bio

Michael Ray Lambrix was born on March 29, 1960. He was also known as Cary Michael Lambrix. By the early 1980s, he was living in Glades County, Florida, where he shared a trailer with his roommate, Frances Smith. Before the murders, Lambrix and Smith met Clarence Moore, also known as Lawrence Lamberson, and Aleisha Bryant at a tavern. The group later went back to Lambrix and Smith’s trailer to eat. That gathering became the setting for the events that led to Moore and Bryant’s deaths.

Murder Story

On February 5, 1983, Michael Ray Lambrix and Frances Smith met Clarence Moore and Aleisha Bryant at a tavern. Later that night, all four went back to Lambrix and Smith’s trailer in Glades County, Florida. At the trailer, Lambrix took Moore outside first. A short time later, he asked Bryant to go outside too. When Lambrix returned alone, he had blood on his clothes and was carrying a tire iron. He told Smith that Moore and Bryant were dead.

Moore had been beaten in the head, and Bryant had been strangled. Smith later helped Lambrix hide the bodies and dispose of evidence. After Smith was arrested on another charge, she told police where the bodies were buried. Lambrix was convicted of two counts of first-degree murder on February 27, 1984. He was sentenced to death on March 22, 1984.

For many years, Lambrix claimed the state’s version was wrong and said the deaths happened during a fight. Courts reviewed his appeals, but his convictions and death sentences remained in place. Michael Ray Lambrix was executed by lethal injection in Florida on October 5, 2017.
