Bio

Michael Manfredonia was born on December 24, 1965 in New Jersey.

Murder Story

Michael Manfredonia, at nineteen years old, committed murder on September 12, 1985. He saw a fourteen-year-old girl walking home from school and approached her. When she rejected his advance, he felt humiliated and angry. He went to his car, retrieved a knife, and confronted her again. During their interaction, he pushed her to the ground, sexually assaulted her, and stabbed her twenty-six times in the chest and back.

After the attack, Manfredonia dragged her body through the woods. He left her in a ditch and covered her with dirt, rocks, and sticks. The police found her body two days later. The medical examiner stated that some of the stab wounds were not deep, which indicated that Manfredonia intended to inflict pain. It was determined that the victim suffered before she died.

Following the discovery of the body, Manfredonia's parents contacted the police. Before the police arrived, he escaped through a bathroom window. The next day, he returned home. His parents called the police again. The police found him in the bathroom, where he had tried to commit suicide by taking pills and cutting his wrists. He was taken to the hospital.

While undergoing treatment, Manfredonia admitted to the police that he had assaulted and stabbed the girl. He later confessed to the murder but claimed he did not understand why he had done it.

At trial, he was convicted of several charges, including murder and aggravated sexual assault. The court sentenced him to life in prison, plus additional years for the other charges.
