— Michael L. Robinson
Michael L. Robinson was born on November 28, 1965, in Florida. He grew up in a challenging environment. It is known that he struggled with substance abuse throughout his life. This included problems with alcohol, marijuana, and crack cocaine.
As he grew older, he became involved in a lifestyle that revolved around drugs. This addiction led him into trouble with the law. He had several run-ins with police due to various offenses.
Robinson eventually entered into a relationship with a woman named Jane Silvia. This relationship would become significant in his life, particularly later on. His problems with drugs affected not only his life but also the lives of those around him.
As time went on, his behavior became increasingly erratic. His struggles with addiction and conflicts in his personal life had serious consequences.
Michael L. Robinson was involved in the murder of his girlfriend, Jane Silvia, on July 24, 1994. The events unfolded after Robinson's mother contacted the police on August 8, 1994, claiming that her son had confessed to killing Silvia. The police responded by searching Robinson's recently vacated home, where they found bloodstains on the carpet.
Robinson was arrested on August 10, 1994, for unrelated drug charges. During his arrest, he initially claimed that a group of drug dealers had killed Silvia while trying to collect a debt. He stated these men had hit her with a hammer and fled after stealing some money. However, this account changed shortly after, and he admitted to stealing Silvia's possessions to buy drugs.
On the night of the murder, Robinson stated that Silvia had fallen asleep on the couch. He retrieved a hammer and returned, waiting for her to fall back asleep. Once she was asleep, he struck her with the hammer multiple times. He then used a knife to stab her in the throat and chest to ensure she would not breathe or have a heartbeat. After killing her, he wrapped her body and buried it, later taking police to the burial site.
Robinson claimed he killed Silvia because he feared she would report him to the police for stealing her belongings. He also mentioned that he wanted to take money that she had hidden in her shoe. After pleading guilty to murder, he was sentenced to death on April 12, 1995, and was resentenced to death again on August 15, 1997.
