Mark Allen Wisehart was born on November 21, 1962. He grew up in Anderson, Indiana. Little is known about his early family life or childhood experiences. However, by the time he reached adulthood, he was living in a Christian Center in Anderson. This center provided housing for people who were in need.

In his early years, Wisehart had a troubled life. Reports suggest he might have struggled with various issues. As a young adult, he did not maintain a stable job or life situation. Instead, his behavior became more concerning. He started to engage in criminal activities, which led him down a dangerous path.

Wisehart's life changed dramatically when he committed a crime that would lead to his arrest. On October 9, 1982, he became involved in a violent incident that ended the life of a woman named Marjorie Johnson. At the time, Johnson was 61 years old and was known to visit the Christian Center. Some of the people there indicated that Wisehart had expressed a desire to rob elderly individuals.

Murder Story

On October 9, 1982, Mark Allen Wisehart murdered Marjorie Johnson, a 61-year-old woman, in Anderson, Indiana. The police received an anonymous call that led them to an apartment where they discovered Johnson's body. She had suffered severe injuries, including a torn clothing and multiple stab wounds.

Evidence showed that Johnson had been stabbed with a knife. Her head was also beaten, and she had been hit with a whiskey bottle. The attack was violent, with reports stating she had been stabbed 13 times in her chest.

Johnson was known to visit the Christian Center where Wisehart lived. A resident of the center testified that Wisehart had sent a letter to Johnson prior to the murder. In the letter, he mentioned intentions to rob elderly individuals.

After Wisehart's arrest, he confessed to the crime. He admitted to stabbing Johnson and hitting her. He also stated that he took $14 from her. In a surprising turn, Wisehart claimed that he was the person who had called the police to report the murder.

Wisehart was charged with several crimes, including murder, burglary, robbery, and theft. He was sentenced to death on September 26, 1983. He has been on death row since that time.
