Murder Story

Ma Yong committed a series of robberies and murders in Shenzhen, China from May to October 2003. He and his partner, Duan Zhiqun, preyed on young women who were searching for jobs. Ma Yong and Duan posed as potential employers to attract these women to their home, which they called their "office."

Over five months, they lured a total of twelve women. The victims were robbed and killed. After the murders, Ma Yong and Duan disposed of the bodies throughout the Buji province.

On October 13, 2003, a young woman managed to escape from their home and reported her ordeal to the police. This led to Ma Yong’s arrest on October 12, 2003. Duan was arrested shortly after on October 23, 2003.

During their trial, both Ma Yong and Duan confessed to the killings. For their actions, Ma Yong was sentenced to death in November 2003.
