Lisa Michelle Lambert was a teenage girl from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, when her path collided with tragedy in 1991. Not much is publicly available about Lambert’s early life beyond the fact that she came from a typical small-town background and was a student at Conestoga Valley High School. At the time, she was romantically involved with a boy named Lawrence “Butch” Yunkin, a senior at the same school. Lambert was described as possessing an intense and jealous streak, especially when it came to her relationships. According to court records and witness accounts, she felt deeply threatened by any girl she perceived as a rival.

Throughout 1991, Lambert became fixated on 16‑year‑old Laurie Show, another Conestoga Valley student. Earlier that summer, Show had gone on a few dates with Yunkin and claimed that he raped her. When Lambert learned about this, she responded with aggression and obsession, determined to punish Show for the situation. Lambert began harassing the younger girl, making threatening phone calls, and confronting her in person.

murder story

On the morning of December 20, 1991, 16‑year‑old Laurie Show was brutally murdered in her family’s home in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The attack came after months of harassment and threats from Lambert and her friends. Lambert, along with another girl named Tabitha Buck, arrived at the Show residence that morning. According to court proceedings, Lambert gained entry by telling Show she had information about Yunkin and needed to speak with her.

Once inside, Lambert and Buck ambushed the unsuspecting girl. Lambert held her down and slashed her throat with a knife. The attack was frenzied and brutal — Laurie Show suffered a deep cut across her throat and stab wounds that proved fatal. After committing the murder, Lambert and Buck attempted to make the scene appear like a break‑in gone wrong.

Laurie’s mother, Hazel Show, arrived home shortly after and found her daughter’s body. The scene shook the quiet Pennsylvania community and quickly became a high‑profile case. Authorities quickly connected Lambert, Buck, and Yunkin to the crime. According to trial testimony, Lambert acted out of a jealous obsession and a desire to eliminate her perceived rival.

Lambert was arrested and charged with first‑degree murder. The trial gained national attention due to its brutal nature and the involvement of teenagers. In July 1992, Lambert was convicted of first‑degree murder and received a life sentence. Her accomplices, Buck and Yunkin, were also tried and convicted for their roles in the crime.

Lambert has remained incarcerated since, and her case has been the subject of countless documentaries, books, and discussions about bullying and teenage violence. Today, she is serving a life sentence in Pennsylvania, and her role in the murder of Laurie Show remains one of the state’s most infamous instances of adolescent obsession turned deadly.
