March 23, 1999Li Yuhui was born in 1952 in China. Not much is known about his early life, but he grew up in a country where traditions and beliefs played a significant role in daily living. He later became a geomancer, also known as a fortune teller. This job involved using feng shui, a traditional Chinese practice that connects natural elements and the stars to people's fortunes.
As a self-styled master of feng shui, Li Yuhui claimed to help people improve their lives. He built a reputation as someone who could guide others in making decisions based on these ancient beliefs. Throughout his life, he was known to incorporate various rituals and practices in his work.
Li lived in Shantou, a city in southern China. He became well-known for his work, and some people turned to him for advice about their futures. Despite his outward persona, his life took a darker turn that led him down a path of crime. As he was involved in his business, he also engaged in illegal activities, which led to tragic outcomes for many people.
Li Yuhui was a Chinese geomancer who committed his crimes in July 1998. He poisoned five victims, consisting of three women and two teenage girls, using cyanide. He claimed to sell them cups of cyanide that would supposedly add years to their lives. This act of poisoning was part of a larger scheme where he stole $150,000 from his victims.
On March 23, 1999, Li was found guilty of these murders by a court in Shantou, China. He was sentenced to death, and his property was confiscated. During the trial, he pleaded not guilty, insisting he was merely an assistant to another feng shui master and did not carry out the actual actions.
Li Yuhui was executed on April 19, 1999. The official report stated that he was executed by a gunshot to the head. This concluded the case of a man who took the lives of five individuals under the guise of offering them a chance for a longer life.
