Bio

Leopoldo Narvaiz Jr. was born on March 13, 1968. He grew up in Texas. Narvaiz dropped out of school after completing the ninth grade. His educational struggles might have contributed to difficulties in his personal relationships and life choices. By the time he was a teenager, he began dating Shannon Mann. Their relationship lasted for several years. However, in February 1988, Shannon decided to end their relationship. This breakup would have significant consequences.

After their relationship ended, Narvaiz's behavior became concerning. He exhibited signs of jealousy and aggression. In March 1988, there was an incident in which he confronted Shannon Mann and her new boyfriend, Ricky Moore. He reportedly threatened both of them and damaged Moore's property. This incident highlighted how deeply affected he was by the breakup.

Murder Story

On April 15, 1988, Leopoldo Narvaiz Jr., 20 years old at the time, committed a mass murder in Bexar County, Texas. He entered the trailer home of his ex-girlfriend, Shannon Mann, and killed her and her three siblings: her sisters, Jennifer and Martha, and her brother, Ernest Jr. The victims were aged 11 to 19. Narvaiz used multiple knives to stab them over 100 times in total.

Shannon managed to call 911 during the attack. In her call, she identified Narvaiz as her attacker and mentioned that he had killed her little sister. When police arrived, they found the four siblings dead. A knife with Narvaiz's thumbprint was located outside the home, leading to his quick arrest at a friend's house the same day.

Two days later, Narvaiz confessed to the murders, claiming he was under the influence of cocaine during the attack. He stated that Jennifer had stabbed him first, which led him to "just go crazy." The autopsy reports revealed the brutal nature of the killings. Shannon had been stabbed five times, while her sister Jennifer had 23 stab wounds and Martha had nine. Ernest Jr., trying to defend his sisters, suffered between 63 and 67 stab wounds.

After a swift trial, Narvaiz was convicted of capital murder. The jury deliberated for only a short time before deciding he should receive the death penalty. He was executed by lethal injection on June 26, 1998. On the day of his execution, he declined to make a last statement.
