Bio

Lamont D. Reese, also known as "Mont," was born on October 16, 1977. He grew up in Louisiana, where his early life was marked by turmoil. At a young age, his mother was sent to prison, which led to him spending much of his childhood in state custody.

Reese's life in Louisiana was troubled. He faced challenges growing up without a stable family situation. He later moved to Texas, where he would ultimately commit the crimes for which he became known.

As a teenager and young adult, Reese became involved in street life, which included drug dealing. He described himself as "no angel" and acknowledged his involvement with drugs. His life took a significant turn when he began a relationship with Kareema Kimbrough, an 18-year-old woman who would later play a crucial role in the events that led to his arrest.

By the time he was in his early twenties, Reese had built connections with gangs and other individuals who engaged in criminal activities. This phase of his life was filled with conflict, and the decisions he made would lead to serious consequences. He was living in Fort Worth, Texas, when he became involved in a violent incident that would ultimately change his fate forever.

Murder Story

On March 1, 1999, Lamont D. Reese, his girlfriend Kareema Kimbrough, and several friends went to a convenience store in Fort Worth, Texas. Kimbrough interacted with several men outside the store. After a brief argument erupted between them, Reese and his group left but decided to return armed with firearms.

Kimbrough drove them back to the store, where the group got out. Reese was alleged to have shot and killed three men: Riki Jackson, 17, Alonzo Stewart, 25, and Anthony Roney, 26. Two other people were injured during the shooting, a 24-year-old man and a 13-year-old boy. After the shooting, the group fled the scene.

Witnesses reported seeing Reese bragging about the attack afterward, which led to his arrest two days later. Detectives found ammunition in Reese's vehicle that matched the bullets used in the shooting.

Reese was indicted for capital murder on May 25, 1999, and was convicted on November 30, 2000. He was sentenced to death. In subsequent years, various appeals were filed, but all were denied.

On June 20, 2006, Lamont Reese was executed by lethal injection in Texas. In his final moments, he maintained his innocence and expressed that he did not want to participate in what he called his "murder." He was pronounced dead at 6:27 PM.
