Bio

Kyriakos Papaxronis was born on September 20, 1960. He grew up in Greece. He eventually joined the military and became a Second Lieutenant. At the age of 19, while serving his military service in the city of Drama, he began to have negative feelings towards women.

This change in attitude seems to have been influenced by his early experiences. When he was 14 years old, he had his first sexual encounter with a woman who was a prostitute. According to him, she made critical comments about him that affected him deeply. He later claimed that she questioned his masculinity, which led to feelings of revenge.

Papaxronis's military career took place in Drama, a city in northern Greece. During his time in the army, he wore his military uniform. He was arrested on March 13, 1982, marking the end of a troubling chapter in his life.

Over time, he faced serious legal issues that resulted in his sentencing. Initially, he was given two life sentences plus an additional 23 years in prison. Later, this was reduced to life imprisonment. In December 2004, he was released under certain restraining orders and has since reportedly been living in rural Greece.

Murder Story

Kyriakos Papaxronis, known as "The Ogre of Drama," committed a series of violent crimes between 1981 and 1982 in Greece. His crimes began in Drama, where he murdered his first victim, Gr. Theocharidou, a prostitute, on September 5, 1981. He attacked her and ended her life through stabbing.

On January 15, 1982, he murdered another young woman, E. Papadopoulou, also in Drama. Less than a month later, on February 15, 1982, Papaxronis killed 20-year-old student Anastasia Alexandridou in Thessaloniki. During this time, he also attempted to murder another woman, M. Postiadou, in December 1981.

In addition to his murders, Papaxronis attacked five other women. He attempted rape and murder against Agoraste Teza, a young woman, and Vassiliki Lazaridou, a nurse, both in Drama. He also targeted D. Pechlivanidou, along with two women in Ksanthi, a city in northeastern Greece.

Apart from these violent acts, he was involved in criminal activities like bombing. He carried out five bomb attacks on various locations, including a post office, a bank in Ksanthi, and a military camp in Drama in early 1982. He also committed arson at the International Airport of Kavala.

Kyriakos Papaxronis was arrested on March 13, 1982, due to this string of violent crimes. He was sentenced to two life sentences plus 23 years in prison. However, his sentence was later reduced to life imprisonment. After serving 22 years, he was released in December 2004 and is now living in rural Greece.
