Bio

Kenneth Eugene Turrentine was born on February 16, 1953. He grew up in a challenging environment in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Details about his early life are limited, but he had a complicated family dynamic. Kenneth had siblings, including a sister named Avon Stevenson.

As a young man, Kenneth faced numerous difficulties. It is reported that he experienced abuse during his childhood, which may have impacted his development and mental health. Despite these challenges, he eventually started his own family and had children of his own.

Kenneth’s relationships were often troubled. At one point, he lived with his girlfriend, Anita Louise Richardson. Their relationship faced significant issues. After some time, Kenneth moved out and began living with his sister Avon.

During this period, Kenneth became increasingly suspicious of Anita. He believed she was unfaithful, and he thought that his sister knew about it. These feelings of betrayal contributed to his emotional turmoil.

On June 3, 1994, Kenneth had a conversation with his ex-wife, where he hinted that things might escalate. The following morning, he obtained a .22 caliber handgun from her. This weapon would later play a crucial role in the tragic events that unfolded in his life.

Murder Story

On June 4, 1994, Kenneth Eugene Turrentine shot and killed four people in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His first victim was his sister, Avon Stevenson, who was 48 years old. Turrentine confronted her at her home with a .22 caliber handgun. During their argument, Stevenson laughed at him, which led Turrentine to shoot her in the head.

After killing his sister, Turrentine drove to the home of his girlfriend, Anita Louise Richardson, who was 39 years old. While inside the house, he and Richardson began to argue. Turrentine shot her in the head as well. Then, he shot her two children, 22-year-old Tina Pennington and 13-year-old Martise Richardson, both also in the head.

Turrentine called 911 after committing the murders and admitted to the operator that he had just killed his girlfriend and her children, as well as his sister. He waited for the police to arrive and confessed once again to the shootings when they arrived on the scene.

He was arrested that same day and was later charged with four counts of murder. Turrentine was found guilty and received the death penalty for the murders of Richardson and her children, along with a life sentence for killing his sister. After many years of legal appeals, he was executed by lethal injection on August 11, 2005.
