— Julius Lee Neuschafer
Julius Lee Neuschafer, also known as "Jimmy," was born on March 17, 1953. He grew up in a small town in the United States.
In 1974, Julius Lee Neuschafer, known as "Jimmy," committed his first murders in Carson City, Nevada. He killed two teenage girls, Shawn Hofer and Lorie Woodruff, who were 15 and 13 years old. He shot them in the head. This crime took place during a time when Nevada did not have the death penalty, so he was sentenced to two life terms in prison without the possibility of parole for the rapes and murders.
Later, on August 21, 1981, while serving his life sentences, Neuschafer killed another inmate named Johnnie Johnson, also known as Willard Taylor. He committed this murder by strangulation. This act led to his conviction for first-degree murder, and he received the death penalty.
Neuschafer was on death row for many years. He faced execution multiple times but managed to delay it through legal maneuvers. On three occasions, he was just hours away from execution when he stopped the process by appealing his case. In December 1990, he was scheduled for execution again and stated he was ready to die. However, just hours before, he changed his mind and sought another appeal.
Neuschafer's death occurred in prison on July 26, 1998, due to natural causes, before he could be executed.
