Bio

Juha Veikko Valjakkala was born on June 13, 1965, in Pori, Finland. He grew up in a country known for its beautiful nature and peaceful living. However, details about his early childhood and family life are not widely known.

As he got older, Juha faced various challenges. By the age of 22, he found himself dealing with the law and was imprisoned for reasons that are not clearly documented. He was released from a prison in Turku, Finland, on May 1, 1988. After his release, he began to travel around Sweden and Finland with his girlfriend, Marita Routalammi, who was 21 years old at the time.

During their time on the road, Juha and Marita moved between different places. They eventually arrived in Åmsele, Sweden, on July 3, 1988. This small town would become a significant location in his life for reasons that would later unfold.

While in Åmsele, Juha engaged in a series of actions that led to his arrest. He had a troubled background and a history of interactions with the law, which would later influence his life choices. After his arrest, he was sentenced to life imprisonment, but that part of his story comes later.

Juha is known to have a complex personality characterized by aggression. Over time, his actions and the choices he made shaped his place in both Finnish and Swedish history. Today, he is known by the name Nikita Joakim Fouganthine.

Murder Story

On July 3, 1988, Juha Veikko Valjakkala was involved in the murders of a family of three in Åmsele, Sweden. That night, Valjakkala stole a bicycle. Sten Nilsson and his 15-year-old son Fredrik chased after him. The chase ended at a cemetery, where Valjakkala shot both Sten and Fredrik.

Later that night, Ewa Nilsson, the wife of Sten and mother of Fredrik, went to look for them. While searching, she was chased into the woods and then attacked outside the cemetery, where Valjakkala killed her by slitting her throat.

Valjakkala and his girlfriend, Marita Routalammi, were caught in Odense, Denmark, about a week later. During the trial, they blamed each other for the murders. The court found Routalammi's version more credible. A psychiatric evaluation determined that both were mentally competent for trial. However, a forensic psychiatrist noted that Valjakkala had a psychopathic personality and was aggressive.

Valjakkala received a life sentence for three counts of murder, while Routalammi was sentenced to two years for complicity in assault. She served half of her sentence and was released. Valjakkala was transferred to Finland to continue serving his sentence.

In April 1994, he escaped from Riihimäki prison by taking a teacher hostage. He was recaptured nearby, and the hostage was unharmed. Valjakkala attempted another escape in 2002 from Pyhäselkä prison but was caught after a police operation.

He made a brief escape from Sukeva prison in 2004, lasting only 19 minutes. On November 28, 2006, Valjakkala escaped again from a labor prison in Hamina. He was captured two days later in Helsinki. After this escape, he returned to a closed prison.

Today, he uses the name Nikita Joakim Fouganthine. He has made several applications for pardon, all of which have been denied. After serving 19 years, he was set to be released on parole on July 1, 2008.
