Jamie Bruce McCoskey was born on October 5, 1964, in the United States.
On November 13, 1991, Jamie Bruce McCoskey confronted a young couple, including Michael Keith Dwyer, at their apartment in Harris County as they were unloading groceries. Armed with a knife, he forced both victims into their car and made them drive around Houston.
He handcuffed Dwyer and locked him in the trunk while he drove to an isolated area. Later, he took the woman into an abandoned house and sexually assaulted her. He then brought Dwyer inside and stabbed him nearly two dozen times, killing him.
The woman escaped to a nearby house and called police. McCoskey fled in the couple’s vehicle but was arrested two days later. Officers found the murder weapon near him.
A jury convicted him of capital murder in November 1992. He was formally sentenced to death in 1993. After more than two decades of appeals, he was executed by lethal injection on November 12, 2013.
