Murder Story

On October 6, 2002, Howard Hawk Willis shot and killed Adam Chrismer and Samantha Leming Chrismer, a newlywed teenage couple. Their bodies were later found in a rented storage unit in Johnson City, Tennessee. Adam was 17 years old, and Samantha was 16 when they were murdered.

After the murders, the couple's bodies were dismembered. Adam’s head and hands were discovered in Boone Lake, not far from the storage unit where their bodies were hidden. The police investigation revealed that Adam had been shot in the face, and Samantha was shot in the back of the head while her hands were tied.

Willis was arrested on October 10, 2002, just four days after the murders. He faced serious charges, including first-degree murder. The prosecution argued he mutilated the bodies after death, and forensic evidence linked him to the crime scene.

During the trial, it was revealed that Willis had confessed to the murders in recorded conversations with his ex-wife. He was also acting as his own attorney during the proceedings.
