Murder Story

On December 2, 1998, Geno Capoletti Wilson, at the age of 17, shot and killed an adult male in Harris County, Texas. The incident occurred while the victim was selling bottles of cleaning solution on the street. Wilson approached the victim with three other companions and expressed interest in buying a bottle. However, he then pulled out a handgun and demanded cash from the victim.

When the victim stated he had no cash, Wilson shot him once in the back of the head. This act was part of a robbery attempt. At that time, Wilson also faced another charge of aggravated robbery related to a carjacking incident, but those charges were not pursued after his sentencing for the murder.

Wilson was arrested and tried for capital murder. On December 29, 1999, he was sentenced to death. However, on June 22, 2005, his sentence was commuted to life in prison.
