Treesh's family life was difficult; his parents faced challenges that affected their household. He had a troubled childhood that involved issues with education and family stability.

By the time he was in his 30s, Treesh had experienced significant upheavals in his life. His history of crime developed into a more severe pattern of behavior, leading to serious legal consequences that would change the course of his life permanently. His early experiences laid the groundwork for the events that would follow in his later years.

Murder Story

Frederick Treesh and his companions were involved in a series of crimes driven by drug use. On August 25, 1994, they decided to rob a business in Eastlake, Ohio, to feed their cocaine addiction. Armed with a nine-millimeter handgun and a sawed-off shotgun, they entered the Vine Street News adult bookstore.

Treesh confronted Louis Lauver, the cashier, at the counter, brandishing his gun and demanding that Lauver not move or call for help. Treesh then went to the back of the store, where he encountered the security guard, Henry Dupree. He ordered Dupree to stand up and attempted to take his handcuffs. A struggle ensued, during which Treesh’s gun went off, fatally shooting Dupree.

After firing at Dupree, Treesh returned to the front of the store where he shot Lauver twice in the face and arm. Lauver survived but sustained serious injuries. Treesh and his accomplices then fled the scene with cash from the register.

Following the robbery, Treesh and his companions attempted to evade police. During the chase, Treesh fired at pursuing officers, further endangering lives. Eventually, they lost control of their vehicle and crashed. When apprehended by the police, Treesh was still armed and attempted to fire at officers.

Treesh was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including aggravated murder for the death of Dupree. He was tried and convicted, with the prosecution highlighting the violent nature of his actions during the crime spree, which included robbery, attempted murder, and endangering the lives of civilians and police officers.

On March 2, 1995, Treesh was sentenced to death. Following numerous appeals and legal challenges, he was executed by lethal injection on March 6, 2013, in Ohio.
