He was identified as being in his early 20s at the time of arrest and associated with a local social club referenced by law enforcement.
murder story
On June 4, 2020, police in Valhermoso Springs, Alabama, responded to multiple emergency calls regarding gunfire at a residence on Talucah Road. Upon arrival, officers found the house ablaze. After firefighters extinguished the flames, inside the property they discovered the bodies of three women, four men, and a dog, all of whom had suffered fatal gunshot wounds. Investigators classified the incident as a targeted attack rather than a random act of violence.
Rogers and John Michael Legg, his co‑defendant, were identified by police as suspects in the shootings. According to law enforcement, the two men and several of the victims were connected through a social club known as the “Seven Deadly Sins.” Authorities reported that tensions within this group, including internal disputes over property and perceived disobedience, were motivating factors in the killings.
On June 22, 2020, Rogers and Legg were located in Stayton, Oregon, during a routine traffic stop and arrested. Both were charged with capital murder in connection with the deaths of the seven people and the dog.
Rogers’ case proceeded to trial. In September 2024, after deliberations, a jury convicted him of capital murder for his role in the shootings. Prosecutors had sought the death penalty at trial, but the jury recommended a sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole. Rogers is now serving his sentence at the St. Clair Correctional Facility in Alabama.
