Bio

Elroy Preston was born on December 30, 1954. In his younger years, Elroy struggled with issues related to alcohol. At some point, Elroy began living with his brother Ervin. Ervin was a paraplegic and required a wheelchair for mobility. Elroy lived in the lower part of Ervin's home, and this arrangement provided a unique dynamic in their household. Ervin’s situation created both challenges and responsibilities for Elroy, as he would often take care of his brother.

During this period, Elroy interacted with other individuals, including Willie "Pee Wee" Richardson and Betty Klein, who lived upstairs in the same house. As adults, they often gathered together, and their time spent together included heavy drinking.

Murder Story

On September 21, 1980, Elroy Preston committed two murders in St. Louis City County, Missouri. The victims were Willie "Pee Wee" Richardson and Betty Klein. On that evening, Preston was living with his brother Ervin, who was disabled and confined to a wheelchair. The group had been drinking alcohol heavily, leading to several verbal disputes over small matters.

Later that night, Pee Wee and Betty went upstairs to bed while Preston and his girlfriend, Sherry Brown, stayed downstairs. At some point during the night, Preston went upstairs and demanded that Pee Wee and Betty return to the lower level of the house. Once they were back downstairs, Preston announced his intention to kill them. He first removed his clothes, claiming it was to avoid getting blood on them.

Preston then attacked Pee Wee with a hunting knife, stabbing him multiple times. After that, he fatally stabbed Betty in the neck, severing her spinal cord. He returned to Pee Wee and continued to stab him, ultimately causing five fatal wounds. After the murders, Preston dipped fried chicken in the blood of his victims and made disrespectful comments about them. He and Sherry then dragged the bodies to a nearby alley for disposal and attempted to clean up the blood in the house.

As a result of these actions, Preston was arrested and later convicted. He received the death sentence for the murder of Pee Wee Richardson and a life sentence for the murder of Betty Klein.
