Bio

Dimitris Vakrinos was born in 1961. He grew up in Greece during a time of social change. His early life was marked by significant challenges. Reports suggest that he experienced childhood abuse. This difficult upbringing affected him throughout his life.

As a child, Vakrinos reportedly spent many years in an orphanage. Growing up without a stable family environment may have contributed to his struggles with self-worth and relationships. He faced many hardships, which shaped his personality as he grew older.

He did not have a typical childhood. Instead of having a supportive family, he had to navigate life on his own. This lack of guidance likely influenced his future decisions and actions.

Murder Story

Dimitris Vakrinos murdered five people between 1987 and 1995. His first victim was Panayiotis Gaglias, who was 53 years old. On August 6, 1987, they had an argument because Gaglias had stolen a hunting rifle from Vakrinos. During the argument, Vakrinos used an iron bar to kill Gaglias.

His second victim was 26-year-old Anastasia Simitzi. On November 20, 1993, after leaving a nightclub, she asked Vakrinos for a ride home. However, he drove her to a remote area near Mantra, Attica, where he poured petrol on her and set her on fire.

The third victim was Theodoros Andreadis, a 39-year-old taxi driver. They had a quarrel four months before the murder since Andreadis picked up a customer from a taxi lane that Vakrinos was supposed to use. On January 9, 1994, Vakrinos posed as a customer and asked Andreadis to drive him to Loutraki. During the ride, he asked him to stop, then shot him four times, and doused the taxi in petrol before setting it on fire.

His last victims were brothers Costas and Antonis Spyropoulos, ages 33 and 35, whom he killed on December 21, 1995. He shot them after they chased him for stealing Costas' car.

Vakrinos was arrested on April 9, 1997. He confessed to these crimes and was charged with several attempted murders and armed robberies. While in prison, he committed suicide by hanging on May 12, 1997.
