Bio

David McGreavy was born in England in 1950 or 1951, although his exact birth date has not been publicly confirmed. By early 1973, he was living in Worcester, Worcestershire. In March 1973, he moved into the home of Clive and Dorothy Ralph as a lodger after becoming acquainted with them locally. During this period, he gained the family’s trust and was allowed to assist with childcare, including being left alone with their three young children on multiple occasions. At the time of the murders in April 1973, McGreavy was approximately 21 years old and residing in the Ralph family home on Gillam Street, Worcester.

Murder Story

On April 13, 1973, David McGreavy was left to babysit three children at their home in Worcester, England. The victims were Paul Ralph (4), Dawn Ralph (2), and Samantha Ralph (9 months). During the evening, he killed all three children using different methods. Paul was strangled with wire, Dawn’s throat was cut, and Samantha died from a severe head injury caused by blunt force.

After the killings, McGreavy removed the children’s bodies from the house and placed them on nearby metal garden railings, where they were later discovered by police. Their parents returned home late that night and found the house disturbed and the children missing. Police were called, and at around 1:20 a.m., officers located the bodies nearby.

McGreavy was found shortly after in the local area and arrested on April 14, 1973. He admitted responsibility and later stated that the youngest child had been crying and would not stop. In July 1973, he was convicted of all three murders and sentenced to multiple life terms with a minimum of 20 years. He remains in prison in the United Kingdom and has been denied parole on multiple occasions.
