murder story
In May 1979, Danny Bible murdered Inez Deaton in Houston, Texas. Deaton, 20 years old, came to Bible's home to use the phone. Once inside, Bible attacked her, demanding sex. When she refused, he went on to strangle her and then stabbed her multiple times with an ice pick. After killing her, he placed her body in his car and drove to a nearby bayou, where he dumped her.
In 1983, Bible committed another set of murders in Weatherford, Texas. He broke into the apartment of Pamela Kay Hudgins, killing her and her friend Tracey Powers, along with Tracey's four-month-old son, Justin. Bible bludgeoned all three victims to death and hid their bodies in the trunk of his car. He later discarded the bodies in different locations in Mineral Wells.
After these crimes, Bible fled Texas, leading a transient lifestyle. In late 1983, he was charged with the murder of Pamela Hudgins due to sufficient evidence against him. He was eventually arrested in January 1984 in Fort Myers, Florida, and extradited back to Texas.
Bible pleaded guilty to the murder of Hudgins and received a 25-year sentence. He also faced charges for a kidnapping and sexual assault case in Montana, for which he received another 20 years but served concurrently in Texas.
After being released on parole in 1993, Bible resumed committing crimes. He sexually assaulted his nieces and, in November 1998, attacked Tera Robinson in a hotel room in Louisiana. Following this attack, he confessed to the murders of Inez Deaton and the Weatherford victims while awaiting trial for the rape charges.
In 2003, Bible was tried for the murder of Inez Deaton, found guilty, and sentenced to death. His execution came on June 27, 2018, via lethal injection in Texas. At the time of his execution, Bible reportedly expressed discomfort, but he had no final words.
