Bio

Daniil Mikhailovich Monakhov was born on June 6, 2002. He lived in a complete family and had a sister who was seven years younger than him.

He had a congenital heart defect. At school he was described as unsociable and uncommunicative. He was a poor student. A former classmate said people sometimes made fun of him, but they did not mock him or insult him. Neighbors and classmates said he came from a good family and looked fine, but he was not like the others.

Since February 2019 he was on his school’s internal register after he expressed an intention to repeat Columbine. His homeroom teacher and the deputy principal noticed posts on his social media that showed an interest in school attacks. He also told classmates he dreamed of buying weapons and explosives.

In September 2020 he entered the Nizhny Novgorod Vocational Boarding School of Social Services. His specialty was "Master of Digital Information Processing." When he reached adulthood, his father bought him a shotgun because he showed an interest in hunting. On September 17, 2020, Monakhov registered that gun in his name. The second gun he used belonged to his father. The day before the events in the village, Daniil went to Bolsheorlovskoye to go hunting in the forest.
