murder story

Dallen Forrest Bounds committed a series of murders between June and December 1999. His first confirmed victim was Jonathan Lemuel Lara. On June 26, 1999, Bounds restrained Lara with flex ties to a chair in the back of a Radio Shack in Greenville, South Carolina. Bounds then stabbed him in the neck with a screwdriver, leading to Lara's death. An accomplice, Casandra Laster, was later convicted of being an accessory to the crime.

On December 22, 1999, Bounds killed a flower shop clerk, Karen Moore Hayden. He entered the shop during the day and attacked her, leaving her dead in a storage room. Her body was discovered the following day by a delivery man who found the store closed and dark.

The day after, on December 23, 1999, Bounds murdered Sandi Roberts Ott and her ex-husband, Timothy Ott, in their home in Easley. After this incident, Bounds fled to a nearby neighborhood where he took two women hostage. In the end, Bounds took his own life by shooting himself in the head.
