Williams did not have any prior prison record before the events that changed his life at the age of 21. Before his criminal involvement, he worked as a laborer. He was a black male with black hair and brown eyes, standing 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing around 176 pounds. His life took a significant turn in the year 2005, which would later lead to his conviction for murder.

Murder Story

On July 9, 2005, in Smith County, Texas, Clifton Williams murdered 93-year-old Cecelia Schneider. He entered her home and attacked her. Williams stabbed her multiple times with a knife and also asphyxiated her. After killing her, he set her body and her bed on fire.

Following the murder, Williams stole Cecelia's purse, which contained about $40, and took her car to flee the scene. He tried to cover his tracks after the crime. Minutes later, he was seen in Cecelia's car, and he drove to his sister's house where he changed his clothes. Williams told a family member that he had injured his hand while fighting a man.

After a police investigation, Williams was found guilty of capital murder. He was sentenced to death on October 27, 2006, after the jury deliberated for about an hour and a half. The prosecution argued that Williams had killed Cecelia for drug money. They presented evidence that included DNA and fingerprints linking him to the crime scene.
