Bio

Clifton Allen White was born on March 2, 1958. His early life was marked by a troubled childhood filled with violence and neglect. He was raised in a family where both parents struggled with substance abuse. His mother was an alcoholic who often abused him physically. His father was addicted to opiate pills and frequently threatened to commit suicide in front of him, which created a terrifying environment.

Growing up, Clifton witnessed horrific scenes of domestic violence. One incident involved his uncle severely beating his mother, which led to his grandfather shooting the uncle in the knees to stop the attack. These traumatic experiences left a deep impact on Clifton.

As a child, he was often beaten by his parents and other relatives. They neglected his emotional needs and provided no stable support. This abusive environment set the stage for problems in Clifton's later life. He was often told that he would never amount to anything, leading to low self-esteem and feelings of worthlessness.

In his teenage years, Clifton began to use drugs and alcohol. He also resorted to petty theft to support his growing addiction. By the time he reached his early twenties, he was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and was given treatment while in prison for burglary. However, after his release, he did not continue taking his medication and instead started to self-medicate with cocaine.

Clifton's life continued to spiral downwards, and he faced increasing challenges with his drug addiction. During this time, he exhibited erratic behavior, which concerned his family. His sister noticed significant changes in his personality and sought help for him, worrying that he might harm himself or others. Despite her attempts to involve authorities, no action was taken to help Clifton before it was too late.

Clifton’s childhood and early adolescence were filled with pain and hardship. These experiences played a critical role in shaping the person he would become as an adult.

Murder Story

On February 4, 1989, Clifton Allen White broke into the home of Kimberly Ewing in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. After four days of using cocaine, he waited for her to return. When she came home, he attacked her.

White tied Kimberly up with an electrical cord. He struck her in the head with a fireplace shovel. He then raped her and stabbed her in the back of the neck. After that, he repeatedly cut her throat with a kitchen knife.

After committing the crime, he took money and some of her belongings. He used these items to buy more drugs and drove her car to Florida. Shortly after, he was arrested. During his arrest, he confessed to the murder of Kimberly Ewing, saying that he killed her while under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

Following the confession, White faced trial for the murder. He was initially sentenced to death in 1994, but this sentence was reversed in 1992. He was retried and again sentenced to death in 1994.

After many years on death row, his execution was scheduled. Clifton Allen White was executed by lethal injection in North Carolina on August 24, 2001. He left behind a mother and father who lost their daughter to his actions.
