June 4, 1999Christopher Julian Solomon was born on January 30, 1980, in Orange, California. He grew up in a city near the California coast.
He attended local schools and achieved a tenth-grade education. Solomon worked as a laborer before becoming involved in criminal activities. By the time he turned 17, he had already begun to engage in unlawful behavior.
In September 1997, Solomon was living in Texas when he committed a serious crime. He was known to hang out with friends who encouraged risky behaviors and engaged in theft and other illegal activities.
On September 19, 1997, Christopher Julian Solomon, along with two accomplices, planned and executed a robbery in Texarkana, Texas. They targeted an adult male named Jason Erie, who was experiencing car trouble. As Erie worked on his vehicle, Solomon and his co-defendants approached him with a weapon. One of the accomplices brandished a .25 caliber handgun and demanded money and jewelry.
During the attempted robbery, Erie resisted. In an escalated moment, the accomplice shot him in the head, causing fatal injuries. Following the shooting, Solomon and the other two fled the scene in their vehicle. This event resulted in the death of Jason Erie.
Solomon was arrested along with his accomplices and faced serious charges. In June 1999, he was convicted of capital murder and sentenced to death. However, in 2005, his sentence was commuted to life in prison.
