1998Charles Mamou Jr. was born on December 6, 1974, in Lafayette Parish, Louisiana.
On December 7, 1998, Charles Mamou Jr. shot and killed Terrance Gibson during a drug deal in Houston, Texas. The shooting occurred when Mamou opened fire on a group that included Gibson. Along with Gibson, two other men, Kevin Walter and Dion Holley, were also shot but survived.
After the initial shooting, Mamou kidnapped Mary Carmouche, a 17-year-old girl who was part of the group. He forced her into a car and drove her to an abandoned house. There, he shot and killed Carmouche. Her body was discovered two days later.
Following the murders, Mamou fled to Louisiana. At the time of his sentencing on November 17, 1999, he was 24 years old. He received a death sentence for the crimes committed that day.
