Céline Lesage was born in 1971 and lived in Normandie, France. Very little is publicly available about her early life, family background, or childhood. By the late 1990s, she was living in a quiet area in Normandie. Between 2000 and 2007, Lesage gave birth to several children. According to court proceedings and media reports, she acted as the sole parent and gave no indication to neighbors or relatives about her pregnancies.

Lesage’s life came to a tragic and grim turning point when she began conceiving and secretly giving birth. After the births, she kept the pregnancies hidden from others and refused to seek medical help or social services. The psychological reasons behind these crimes have never been fully explained, but during court proceedings, Lesage offered no clear justification for her behavior.

murder story

Between 2000 and 2007, Céline Lesage gave birth to six infants and murdered all of them shortly after their birth. According to the court proceedings, she suffocated four of the newborns and strangled the other two. The infants were wrapped and kept in plastic bags, hidden away in the basement of the apartment she shared in Normandie.

On October 19, 2007, Lesage’s new boyfriend, Luc Margueritte, made a shocking discovery. Upon entering the basement of the couple’s shared apartment, he found the remains of the six infants. The horrific scene led to Lesage’s arrest and the opening of a murder investigation.

In 2010, Lesage was found guilty of murdering her six newborn children. The court in Normandie sentenced her to 15 years in prison. Lesage offered little insight or explanation for her crimes throughout the proceedings, and the case deeply shook the local community.

Today, Céline Lesage remains imprisoned in France, serving her 15‑year sentence. The tragedy became a pivotal example for the French justice and social services, prompting wider discussions about mental health support and the protection of children born under clandestine circumstances.
