Bio

Bulelani Vukwana was born in 1973 in South Africa. Very little specific information is available about his early life and childhood. However, he grew up in a community in East London, a city known for its vibrant culture and struggles with crime and poverty.

Vukwana later became a security guard and worked for Gray Security Services, starting his employment there in October 1998. His job involved protecting properties and ensuring safety in various locations. It is unclear how his experiences as a security guard shaped his life or influenced his actions later on.

In his personal life, Vukwana had a girlfriend named Noluvuyo Mbenya. Their relationship faced difficulties, which led to conflict between them. Friends and family described Vukwana as someone who seemed content and without issues, though he struggled in his relationship with Mbenya.

Murder Story

On the evening of February 9, 2002, Bulelani Vukwana began a violent spree that would leave 11 people dead and several others injured. He was upset after being dumped by his girlfriend, Noluvuyo Mbenya, and tried to convince her to get back together. When she refused to see him, he went to a nearby bar, known as a shebeen, and shot the owner, injuring her.

Afterward, he returned to his girlfriend's house, where a family event was taking place. A friend persuaded Noluvuyo to speak with Vukwana. When she opened the door, he shot her in the head, killing her instantly. Vukwana then shot her father, who had come to investigate the noise, and continued his rampage by shooting more people nearby.

Vukwana even hijacked a car with armed threats, forcing the driver and passengers out. He drove back to the same bar, where he shot more people. He continued to fire at random, targeting motorists and pedestrians, causing multiple casualties. Ultimately, he faced the police and, realizing he was cornered, he ended his own life by shooting himself.

His actions that night left a devastating impact, claiming the lives of 11 individuals, including himself, and injuring several others.
