— Britt Allen Ripkowski
Britt Allen Ripkowski was born on October 31, 1971, in Contra Costa County, California. He grew up in a challenging environment that shaped his early life.
During his adolescence, Ripkowski had a stormy relationship with his family. As he grew older, he dropped out of school after completing the 12th grade. He worked various jobs, including as a computer programmer and laborer.
As an adult, Ripkowski moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, where he began a tumultuous relationship with a woman named Monica Allen. Monica had a two-year-old daughter named Dominique from a previous relationship. Ripkowski and Allen lived together at different times in both Salt Lake City and Houston, Texas. However, their relationship was marked by conflict and instability.
In the months leading up to December 1997, they were living apart, with Ripkowski residing in Houston while Allen stayed in Salt Lake City. Their relationship became increasingly strained during this time.
On December 22, 1997, Britt Allen Ripkowski killed Monica Allen, an adult female, in Salt Lake City, Utah. After committing the murder, he left her body by the roadside. He then traveled with Monica’s two-year-old daughter, Dominique Frome, to Houston, Texas. On December 25, 1997, Ripkowski smothered Dominique in a tragic act.
He placed her body inside a suitcase, which he left on the side of the road in Houston. This suitcase remained there for about a week before Ripkowski decided to bury it in a shallow grave near the Sheldon Reservoir in Harris County, Texas.
Ripkowski was arrested on January 22, 1998, following an investigation that connected him to the disappearances of both Monica and Dominique. During the police interrogations, he confessed to both murders. The authorities recovered Dominique's body on January 23, 1998, based on the information he provided.
Ripkowski was later sentenced to death on September 15, 1999, for his actions.
