Bio

Brandon Wilson was born in 1978. He grew up in Milltown, Wisconsin. Brandon had a troubled childhood. His parents divorced when he was 13 years old. This event deeply affected him and caused him to have strong feelings toward his mother. At times, he even had thoughts of harming her.

Brandon struggled with many issues. He started using LSD when he was just 14 years old. He was in a car accident that resulted in injuries, which led to him receiving a $25,000 settlement. Brandon used this money to travel across the country. He said he was searching for God during these travels.

As a teenager, Brandon had a close friend who died in a car accident. This loss troubled him and added to his emotional struggles. He graduated from high school but did not settle down. He became a drifter, moving from place to place without a permanent home.

Brandon's thoughts became darker as he grew older. He reported that he believed he had a purpose given to him by God. This belief included feelings of being a warrior for God. He also claimed to have urges to kill starting in his teenage years.

His early life was marked by instability, substance abuse, and emotional pain, leading to a series of troubling thoughts and actions in his later years.

Murder Story

Brandon Wilson murdered 9-year-old Matthew Cecchi on November 14, 1998, in a bathroom at Oceanside Harbor, California. Wilson, who was 20 years old at the time, followed Matthew into the men's washroom while the boy was at a family event. Matthew's aunt waited outside for him. In the washroom, Wilson quickly took out a knife and slashed Matthew's throat from ear to ear without making a sound.

After the attack, Wilson left the washroom and walked past Matthew's aunt, hissing, "What's going on?" This alarmed her, prompting her to call out to Matthew. When she entered the washroom and discovered Matthew lying in a pool of blood, she screamed in shock.

The story did not end there. The police arrived quickly and set up a perimeter to catch the killer, but Wilson was not apprehended immediately. He was caught days later in Los Angeles when he attacked a woman.

During his trial, which started on September 13, 1999, Wilson pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. He claimed he killed Matthew because God instructed him to do so and expressed a desire to kill again. However, the jury found him guilty on September 28, 1999.

In a surprising move, Wilson testified during the penalty phase of his trial. He expressed no remorse and asked the jury to give him the death penalty, believing society would be better off without him. The jury agreed, and Wilson was sentenced to death on November 4, 1999.

He is currently on death row at San Quentin State Prison.
