Bio

Billy Daniel Raulerson Jr. was born in 1969. He grew up in Georgia, in a difficult environment. As a young person, Raulerson struggled in school and did not finish his education. He only completed the eighth grade. It is reported that he had a below-average IQ, which likely made it difficult for him to navigate social situations and understand complex issues.

By the time he reached adulthood, he had become involved in criminal activities. This pattern of behavior escalated over time, ultimately leading to serious offenses.

Murder Story

On May 30 and 31, 1993, Billy Daniel Raulerson Jr. committed a series of murders in Chatham County, Georgia. His first victims were 18-year-old Charlye Dixon and her fiancé, 19-year-old Jason Hampton. Raulerson shot both of them using a .22 caliber rifle. After killing Jason Hampton, he shot Charlye Dixon as she attempted to flee. Following their murders, he removed their bodies from the scene.

Raulerson then drove several miles to a wooded area with Charlye's body. There, he committed further acts against her before attempting to return to her body the next day. However, he abandoned this plan when he saw other people nearby.

Later, Raulerson sought another target. He broke into the home of 40-year-old Teresa Gail Taylor. After finding her inside, they struggled. Raulerson shot her multiple times and took her purse before leaving the scene.

Raulerson was arrested seven months later on unrelated charges. A blood sample he provided linked him to the murders through DNA evidence. He confessed to the killings during police interrogations after the DNA results were revealed. Upon investigating his home, police discovered items related to the crimes, including a fishing rod stolen from Jason Hampton's truck and parts of the same rifle used in the murders.

Raulerson was charged with multiple offenses, including three counts of murder. He was ultimately sentenced to death on March 15, 1996.
