Beauford James White was born on October 29, 1945, in the United States. Very little is publicly known about his early childhood, education, or family life. What is documented is his extensive criminal background. White’s criminal record began in July 1963, when he was only 17 years old. Over the years, he was arrested multiple times for serious crimes and spent time in prison. Despite being considered a repeat offender, he was eventually released on parole. At the time of the Carol City murders, he was on parole for assault with intent to commit rape. This period of relative freedom would become deadly, as he later got involved in one of the most horrific mass killings in Florida’s history. His behavior over the years showed a pattern of escalating violence, disregard for the law, and involvement with dangerous individuals.

murder story

Between October 1974 and January 1978, a series of brutal murders occurred across Carol City, Florida and other areas in Miami-Dade County. These killings were primarily orchestrated by John Errol Ferguson, a serial killer with a long history of violence. Beauford James White, already a convicted criminal with a rap sheet dating back to July 1963, became one of Ferguson’s key accomplices. At the time of the killings, White was out on parole for assault with intent to commit rape.

White participated in several of the murders, including a double homicide on July 27, 1977, and the most infamous event, the Carol City Massacre on January 8, 1978. In the massacre, Ferguson, White, and another accomplice, Marvin Francois, entered a home under the guise of narcotics officers. They tied up eight people, then executed them one by one. Six victims died, while two others survived by pretending to be dead.

White was arrested just days after the massacre. During his trial, prosecutors presented strong evidence linking him to the crime scene and his involvement in the planning and execution of the murders. He was convicted in July 1979 on multiple counts of first-degree murder. Despite appeals and efforts to avoid execution, Beauford White was executed in Florida’s electric chair on August 28, 1987.
