May 31, 2006Antti Olavi Taskinen was born in 1976 in Finland. Little is known about his early life. Information about his upbringing, childhood experiences, and family background is limited. He grew up in a country known for its strong education system and high quality of life. However, the details of his personal life during his formative years remain unclear.
As he entered adulthood, Taskinen lived in Finland's cities, including Tampere and Heinola. The records do not specify his educational background or career choices before he became involved in criminal activities. It is also not known how he interacted with peers or family members during this time.
Antti Olavi Taskinen is a serial killer from Finland. He is known for the murders of three men in two cities, Tampere and Heinola.
His first victim was a 20-year-old student from Tampere. In August 1996, Taskinen killed him by giving him an overdose of Dolcontin, a type of morphine. This act was classified as aggravated involuntary manslaughter by the local court.
In February 1997, Taskinen spent time with a 30-year-old man. After their meeting, the man died from a significant overdose of Abalgin, a pain medication. Shortly before his death, the man had made a testament naming Taskinen as a beneficiary. This death was ruled as manslaughter by the local court.
Taskinen's third victim was Markku Heimo Juhani Franssila, a 54-year-old businessman. They had been in a registered partnership for four months. The murder took place in November 2005 at Franssila's villa in Heinola. Franssila died from an overdose of Abalgin. The motive for this murder was inheritance, as Taskinen stood to gain from it.
Taskinen was arrested in January 2006 after police suspected him of killing Franssila. They later linked him to the two earlier homicides. On May 31, 2006, he was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison.
In May 2007, Taskinen attempted to appeal to the Supreme Court, but this request was denied. He also asked for a pardon from the President, but it was rejected in July 2007.
