Anastasiya Tarverdiyeva was born around the year 2000 in Russia. She was the youngest daughter of Inessa Tarverdiyeva and grew up in the village of Divnoye, Stavropol Krai. Raised in a family that operated under the pretense of normalcy, she lived in what appeared to be a comfortable home. However, behind this facade was a household immersed in hatred, manipulation, and violent crime.

As a child, Anastasiya was surrounded by criminal influences. Her mother, Inessa, was a former nursery school teacher turned killer. Her stepfather, Roman Podkopaev, was a registered dentist with alleged involvement in her biological father’s mysterious death. Her older half-sister, Viktoria, actively participated in the family’s murders and robberies. While Anastasiya was only a teenager during the gang’s active years, she was brought along on “camping trips” that served as a cover for their criminal activity in Rostov Oblast.

There are few details about Anastasiya's life outside of the gang. She was still in school at the time of many of the murders, and her age protected her legally once the group was arrested.

murder story

Though not believed to have directly committed the murders, Anastasiya was present during many of the family’s deadly crimes. Her involvement ranged from acting as a lookout to transporting stolen goods and being physically present while her family carried out brutal killings.

The family's killing spree began in 2008, when they murdered Mikhail Zlydnev and his wife in Aksai. Over the next five years, the gang would kill dozens of people, including civilians, police officers, security guards, and even teenage girls. The crimes included shooting victims in their homes or cars, torturing them, and stealing property — often petty household items like laptops, boots, jackets, or even a TV remote control.

Anastasiya was with her family when they executed high-profile murders such as the killing of Lieutenant Colonel Dmitry Chudakov and his entire family in 2009. While it's unclear whether she physically participated in the attack, she was present during their so-called "mission" and was implicated through recovered evidence found at the family’s forest encampment.

The crime spree escalated in 2012 and 2013. On April 24, 2013, the gang murdered police lieutenant Andrei Yurin. Months later, in September 2013, following a shootout between Roman Podkopaev and police that resulted in his death, Anastasiya was arrested at a forest campsite. There, she was found guarding a stockpile of stolen weapons and items linked to victims.

Despite the serious nature of the crimes and her proximity to the violence, Russian law did not allow for her prosecution due to her age at the time of the murders. She was only 13 when most of the crimes were committed. Authorities questioned her but could not legally try her in court. She was eventually released, and her current whereabouts remain unknown. The government has not disclosed whether she underwent psychological rehabilitation or remained in the custody of other relatives.
