Bio

Alan Dale Price was born in 1951. He was married to Janette Jeffers, and they had a child together. However, as time passed, their relationship faced challenges. Eventually, they got divorced after about 15 years of marriage. This divorce led to ongoing legal disputes related to child support for their daughter.

In the years leading up to his crimes, Alan's behavior became more concerning. He was stopped by the police for running a red light and had his car impounded, which was an overdue rental. During this incident, police confiscated a shotgun from his vehicle but returned it a few days later when he requested it back.

Murder Story

On January 13, 1999, Alan Dale Price killed three people in Dallas, Texas. He shot his ex-wife, Janette Jeffers, who was 43 years old. He also shot her mother, Margaret Compton, who was 67, and her friend, Mary Roland, who was 63. After committing these acts, Price turned the gun on himself and took his own life.

Price was found dead inside the home where the shootings took place. Police reported that he used a shotgun for the murders. Earlier that week, law enforcement had taken Price's shotgun for safekeeping but returned it to him just days before the incident.

A 12-year-old boy, the son of Janette Jeffers's current husband, managed to escape from a second-story window during the events. He was outside when police arrived and was not harmed. Investigators believed that Price had been waiting at the house for the right moment to ambush the victims. There had been recent tensions between Price and his ex-wife, which may have contributed to the motive behind the murders.

In the time leading up to the incident, neighbors reported seeing someone lurking around the home. Price had a history of problems, including minor legal issues, but nothing severe was noted recently.
