murder story
Abdufatto Tashpulatovich Zamanov, known for his brutal killings, was active from 2002 to 2004 in Krasnoyarsk, Russia. He committed his first murder at a cemetery. Zamanov mostly targeted victims in suburban areas, public gardens, near cafes, and along roads. He used improvised weapons like knives and household items to carry out his attacks.
The most shocking event occurred in November 2004 when he murdered five women in a village located in the Mansky District. During these killings, he used various makeshift weapons and then fled the scene, taking valuables and gold jewelry from the victims.
Zamanov had a reputation for being unpredictable and extremely cruel. He committed six of his 14 murders in a single day at a summer cottage. His attacks were random, fueled by sudden anger or resentment toward his victims. Witnesses described him as a man of Asian appearance, which helped create a facial composite for the police.
He had a history of violence and had also been involved in sexual relationships with two minors. Zamanov's talkative nature led to his downfall when he confessed details about the murders to his female companion. She reported him to the authorities, which led to his arrest on December 9, 2004.
After resisting arrest, Zamanov claimed he was provoked in each case during his trial. Initially sentenced to 25 years in prison in 2006, he faced an appeal from the victims' families and a regional prosecutor's office. By 2008, he was sentenced to life imprisonment, which he is currently serving in a special regime colony known as the Polar Owl, located in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
