Bio

Aamir Qayum was born in 1981 in Lahore, Pakistan. His father was blind, and his family life was difficult. Aamir grew up with a brother and five sisters. Due to his violent behavior, his family eventually abandoned him when he was a child. After being left alone, he moved in with his maternal uncle, Dr. Shahid.

Aamir's early life was marked by hardship. He experienced instability at home, which made it hard for him to find a sense of belonging. Aamir struggled in school and was eventually expelled due to his aggressive actions. His violent tendencies also affected his relationships with his siblings, who reportedly threw him out of the house after he hurt them.

Tragedy struck Aamir’s family when his uncle was killed in 2003. This event had a profound effect on him. Aamir believed he was seeking revenge for his uncle's murder, which he thought caused the breakup of his family. Before his arrest, he was living a simple life and worked washing cars in Liberty Market. However, he was also struggling with drug addiction, which contributed to his erratic behavior.

Living in Lahore, Aamir led a solitary life in a rented room in the Shadbagh area.

Murder Story

Aamir Qayum, known as "The Brick Killer," committed a series of murders in Lahore, Pakistan, between June and July of 2005. His targets were primarily homeless men, including laborers, beggars, and drug addicts. He attacked his victims while they were sleeping, using heavy stones or bricks as weapons.

Between June 20 and July 18, 2005, Aamir confessed to killing 14 people and injuring two others. The attacks created significant fear among the homeless population in Lahore. Aamir was eventually arrested on July 18, 2005, after he attempted to attack another man who survived.

Witnesses reported seeing Aamir strike his victims with large stones, which weighed between 10 and 35 kilograms. At his arrest, police found blood-stained clothes and some evidence linking him to the murders.

Aamir claimed he wanted revenge against society for the murder of his uncle, which he believed caused his family to be torn apart. Authorities noted that Aamir had a history of violence and was described as a drug addict. In May 2006, he was sentenced to death for his crimes.
